camps are just great lah!!

YOUTH CAMP 2008!

finally posting about FIBC YOUTH CAMP 2008 =)

main reason for this very late post is coz i was collectin photos -.-

i even joined facebook just to grab photos -.-

ANYWAY,

YOUTH CAMP 2008 was a great camp =)

though i was very very sian to go coz firstly it was only frm 26th to 27th =(

and coz it was held at a church -.-

bt it turned out much much better den expected la =)

FIRST DAY, 26th DECEMBER 2008

met cindy, cynthia, ian, hannah and claudia at bedok mrt in de mornin

den headed to the church.. (not ours though, some other church)

so the first thing we did when we reached there,

TAKE PHOTO.. HAH.. coz the gate wasnt opened yet..

(its the church on the background, yupps, de terrace looking building..)

den started playin basketball with claudia and hannah, Ian and my sis too..

oh heres cindy and cynthia =)

reason for posting them coz i wanna say cindy's THE BEST CHEM TUTOR EVER :)

AND SHES THE NICEST, MOST PATIENT PERSON IVE EVER EVER SEEN, SERIOUS :D

i love cindy !!

okae, so it was lunch time.. all our meals were packed lunches la.. so no dish washin! woots!

(though this photo was our last lunch tere, 2nd last meal)

den aft lunch was our 1st game!

we hadta shout out the name of the person opposite us,

the faster person wld stay, slower one go to the other team..

and the team left with the most ppl wld win..

and i think the funniest one was irving xP

coz he shouted my name instead of shoutin judith's name when it was his turn.. hahahahaha

and ya tats him up there.. gosh..

ANW, HERES MY TEAM! GIDEON!!! & the other team i think Isaac? or Abraham?

bt main pt is my team la xP the 1st three ppl sittin infront.. cindy,me and irving =)

but actually it isnt just 3 of us in the team,

tere was supposed to be esther OUR TEAM LEADER :)

and jeriel who wasnt tere, plus shane and glen BUT they were kinda in charge so cant play..

next game was de ICE BREAKER game..

literally ICE BREAKING..

we were supposed to MELT the BIG ice cube to get pieces of paper inside..

to form a bible verse..

but coz im nt de bible kinda person, i cldnt help with the verse =(

so i helped to melt the ice oni.. and in de end we were last.. =(

on anw, heres the inside of the church.. tere was a BIG field..

and a basketball court at the side =)

ohh bt we WON de mcq quiz game!!! :DD

mostly is coz cindy and irving are well versed in bible stories,

and glen's just smart la.. haha..

yupps, oh den we went to fill up water bombs for the next few games :)

cant rmb which game came first..

but anw we played this game called musical chairs..

BUT before u say CHEYY,

this musical chair game was DIFFERENT..

water bags were placed on the chairs,

and we were supposed to burst them *gulps*

de 1st thing i was thinkin was, "MY PANTS WLD GET WET o.o"

so actually hannah and i used plastic bags to protect our butts xP

but shane disallowed it D:

and guess wat, the 1st round, hannah and i were out alr xP

i think it was the reluctance of gettin our butts wet :x

but it was just soo timely we both out together :)

and its been so fast lor,

its been one yr since we were close :)

youth camp 2007,

2008

but also cant really compare liddat.. xP

coz i wearin specs.. will make me look older.. =(

anw,

it was fun watchin everyone gettin their butts all wet..

and my sis cldnt burst a single water bag on her chairs -.-

den next we played this game tat our jobs were to pass the water bags..

from one end to the other =)

AND MY TEAM WON THIS GAME HURRAYS! :D

nt forgettin JACOB team (which is hannah & my sis team) tat helped la.. LOL..

den we played water bomb fight xP

the traditional kind whr we needa bomb each other's teamates..

and hadta get rid of all de sponges in our buckets..

i have to say, glen and irving did a great job of runnin ard xP

while me was protectin cindy frm gettin sponges in her bucket :D

den the rest of the free & easy time,

was playin basketball with claudia, my sis and hannah :)

which i fell in love with..

i think sports is such a meaninful way to kill them xP

but so far i haven been spendin my tym meaningfully coz my rents haven bought us our bball-.-

oh at nite had a fun game..
was supposed to make sandwiches which MUST be creative..

so we all went to cold storage to buy our ingredients :))

and this was my team's xP
we used cookies as the "bread"

and used MY FAVOURITE JELLY for de filling inside :)
one of them was filled with longan and banana..
another had jelly and m&ms..

another was filled with the caramel frm MARS BAR..
IM TELLIN YOU TAT COMBI IS SOOOO NICE AND SWEET
im so gonna make myself some aft my cough recovers :x

though i think my team's was the ugliest lookin *blush*
bt i think mine tastes de nicest lor xP

den slept quite late,lyk 1plus or 2? coz was talkin with hannah =)

and her last sentence was incomplete coz johanna and carmen came in alr,

and we cldnt talk anymore :(

& we even shared our sleepin bags coz it made it more comfy and more bed-like..

bt in de middle of the nite hannah took my sleepin bag and covered on me..

i dunnoe if she took hers back lor.. i just noe i felt warm suddenly ar xP

SECOND DAY, 27th DECEMBER 2008

ESTHER CAME TO JOIN GIDEON!! HURRAY! :D

i was very glad she came coz i was de leader to take her place de day before..

so now finally the real leader arrived =)

well there she is! on the left, den me in orange, den cindy, shane, seth..

and HURRAY agn coz jeriel came awhile later while we were havin session =)

well, nothin much coz whole day was just study sessions on the bible by pastor..

den had group photos too! :)

this is the photo of the FIBC YOUTH GIRLS! *cheers* :D

not forgettin the guys..~ all acting cool.. haha

and i learnt somethin new bout de "new" guy named zijian, on the last day of our camp at nite -.-

he had de same sirname as me lor.. haha.. so kinda lyk had a new brother xP

(hes the one in blue :D )

OHYA, and we had a very fun game aft the sessions :DD

it was DONT FORGET THE LYRICS, FIBC VERSION xP

well, it was to test us our christian songs knowledge la.. haha

and at 1st my team was doin well, den we had one wrong coz of me =(

i mean coz i din noe the song well, bt i stil chose it coz jeriel said he knew it -.-

bt ended up we all din noe it and i had one word wrong!

i stil rmb de word was "MINGLED"..which was my 1st guess..

but i was so hesistant tat i changed my ans to "MINGLING".. =(

so this taught me tat i shld trust my instincts more.. *sighs*

to think i tot this kinda game wld be fine for me,

since i always play it at home xP

and since i play simlilar of these often with mich.. somemore they're JAP songs we play with..

shldnt this been easier for me.. *sighs*

but we won in de end.. :D

coz esther cld ans those songs other teams cldnt :)

WELL DONE ESTHER :)

den played VOLLEYBALL,

whr i fell in love with it too x)

as i was tellin sandy tat very day, im beginning to think sports is really meaninful xP

coz we were smsin frm day 1 of my camp.. =)

and was glad she was tere smsin with me the whole time, accompanyin me..YAY for san :D

den it was home sweet home aft havin dinner at BURGER KING =.=

if you ppl dunnoe.. i hate burger king xP

but tat nite i tasted somethin nice... ahahah

judith intro-ed this sandwhich burger which tasted normal xP

i mean i really hate burger king's pattys.. and FINALLY teres someone who agrees with me,

JUDITH.. hahaha.. i mean nvr found someone who disliked their pattys lyk me xP

THIRD DAY, 28th DECEMBER 2008

our camp program continues even though we went home the nite b4 :)

so aft church ended on sunday tat day..

we all had briefin tat we gonna play AMAZING RACE :D

our 1st stop was to go to the colourful bridge at clarke kuay tere..

which was lyk 5mins run, 10mins walk frm our church xP

so everyone ran for their lives tere xP

cept JACOB, (my sis and hannah's grp) haha..

Oh and coz the day b4, jeriel said we all wear green..

so GIDEON were the GREEN team for amazing race :)

but jeriel din turn up -.-

and SO COOL, coz i happen to love green ^.^

gd choice jeriel.. LOL..

and a grp photo at the bridge before we set off :)

de no of ppl present was reduced though, coz many werent tere..

anw the game was SUPER FUN..

we took many many many photos bt its all with GLEN =(

who was our game marshall..

anw so hadta go to different check points, just lyk de amazing race you watch on tv..

and we wld hav bonus if we took pic with christmas trees taler den 2m :)

and we took with lyk 8 christmas trees :DD

our 1st stop was to a church.. which we used 50pts to exchange for de name of de church

hadta take photo with 5 ppl tere.. den task completed!

den went to raffles city to take photo with christmas trees xP

we were lyk on christmas tree hunt la.. hahaha..

den went to suntec city coz tat was our 2nd stop

whr we were given photos and hadta find whr de exact spots the photos were taken frm..

and while walkin and findin esther an di had FREE STARTBUCKS DRINKS ^.^

coz they were givin them out free.. LOL!!

den went to GRAND LINK PLAZA.. whr we used our 1st bus trip..

oh did i mention, we only were allowed THREE bus trips..

we played ARCADE tere :D

coz tat was our task xP

we played daytona, the car racing game

for every lap below 20secs, we wld get 10pts :)

and it was fun playin la xP

den headed to next stop which was KATONG PLAZA

whr we hadta dance ballet -.-

whr mich's teachings of basic ballet came in place xP

it was surprisin i stil rmb wat she taught me at her hse.. hahahaha..

and it was a gd thin esther knew ballet too =)

DEN, went to this place which we hadta climb TEN STOREYS to reach a tuition centre,

and recite its pledge..

best part was we cldnt use any street dirctorys or use lifts..~

bt we made it la =)

den ran all the way to east coast which was our finishin line!!

and we came in 2nd place ^.^

why east coast? coz we were gonna have bbq there :)

and before the bbq, judith,claudia,hannah and me went to the seaside to play :)

at 1st i was supposed to help hannah write her name on the sand,

and she write mine..

bt bcoz she said my handwriting nicer, she asked me write mine myself too -.-

and we took alot more pics.. bt i look stupid in them so ya xP

oh and tats me.. taken by hannah =)

she forced me to stand tere lor..and the pic way infront of my shadow,

was also forced by her to take de.. tsk xP

bt they ended up nice, so i dun blame her.. hahahaha

and bcoz i din wanna walk on those pokey things on the grass,

she willingly volunteered & piggyback-ed me all the way to the sand frm de bbq pit.. xP

and on de way back, aft we washed our feet with water bottle water,

hannah piggyback-ed me agn all de way back to bbq pit =)

awww, it was nice of her la =)))

*touched* hahaha.. THOUGH i almost dropped off when reachin de bbq pit,

mostly i think coz she was tired le, and i was tired too so cldnt grip well xP

and so bbq time!! whr some of our parents came too.. haha..

OH and claudia, hannah and me went to cofffee bean to buy drinks,

whr i tasted nice nice mocha :)

den aft tat hannah and i decided we wld rent bikes!!

coz i kept pesterin her tat i wanted to xP lalalalalala..~

so the two lazy pigs rented a double bike.. hahahahaha..

at 1st i tried to ride in front with her behind,

but, i cldnt balance at all -.-

so i rode behind her in de end *shake head*

den hanged out at the pit for awhile..

den aft dinner went to ride our bike.. :)

it was FUN,

coz 1stly it was de FIRST TIME i ride bike, AT NITE.. hahahaha

it was thrillin lor..

and wasnt tirin coz hannah was steering it :)))

and becoz it was nite tym, it was thrillin coz it was super dark,

and nt much ppl were on the streets.. :)

so we were talkin and talkin about personnal stuff all de way xP

and den it was PRIZE GIVING TIME!!

my team, GIDEON, came in FIRST PLACE OVERALL!!!

WOOOHOOOO!!!

it was totally unexpected lor... serious.. haha

and this is my FULL team :D

who was patient no matter wat, and his jokes brought so much motivation to our team =)

den GLEN, our campmaster =) who planned this nice and fun camp :D

de one in blue, JERIEL, who din really join in everythin bt helped us in DONT FORGET THE LYRICS :) de one who suggested wearin green bt din wear -.-

den beside him, ESTHER, our TEAM LEADER!!! get to noe her better aft the camp la =)

next MANDA (me)!!! well wat can i say, nice, get along with everyone, a great assistant team leader.. well done! ^x^

i think she makes the best shepherd xP totally nice & perfect..my favourite "senior" :D
den behind cindy, is SHANE.. the game master.. i think his games this time were very creative and fun la.. yay! haha..
